Sioux Falls Community Garden 2010 Season
Thank you, Community Gardeners!
Interest in the Community Garden program continues to build each year, and as of March 25, all garden locations for the 2010 season were full.
The Sioux Falls Community Garden is a cooperative effort involving the City of Sioux Falls, Minnehaha County Master Gardeners, Minnehaha County Extension Service, and a dedicated group of volunteers, including more than 200 individual gardeners.
Garden placement is on a first-come, first-served basis with priority given to people who successfully gardened in the Sioux Falls Community Garden program last year.
People who choose to be community gardeners are expected to maintain their garden plots for the entire growing season and to provide volunteer help in preparing the garden sites with activities such as staking plots and applying organic mulch. Gardeners are also expected to clean their plots at the end of each growing season.
Applications for the 2011 Community Garden Season will be available at the Park Office or online starting January 19, 2011.
