On Friday, July 16, 2010 Sioux Falls Parks and Recreation held its Second Annual Youth Triathlon.

The weather was perfect for the 65 participants ranging in age from 6 years to 16 years of age. Ages 6-13 years swam 100 meters, biked 3 miles, and ran ½ a mile and ages 14-17 swam 200 meters, biked 6 miles, and ran 1 mile. The event started at 9:30 a.m. at Drake Springs Family Aquatic Center and continued onto the bike trail. The event was completed with an awards ceremony with door prizes and refreshments compliments of Premium Food & Beverage.
